Surf spots around Peniche and Lourinhã
As a surfer in Portugal you will always find a wave! In the immediate vicinity of our surf camp there are plenty of surf spots with good waves at almost all swell directions, wave sizes and wind directions. You never drive more than 20 minutes from the houses to one of the surf spots!
In general, we can say that the waves are smaller in summer and larger in winter. Our coast is considered a wave magnet, as the coastline juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Waveless days can thus be counted on one hand.
Legend
Dreamlike, long sandy beach north of Peniche with countless peaks. Attention, quite strong current!
Runs at 1-3m wave height
High Class Left Point Break. Be careful at low tide, as the reef is then only a few centimeters under water! Often quite crowded.
Runs at 1.5-4m wave height
Right next to Lagido. Easy beachbreak, at low tide with some stones in the middle. Sheltered with a westerly wind. Often very crowded.
Runs at 0.5-2m wave height
Nice beach break and Peniches main spot, therefore almost always crowded. But due to the easy paddling out surfable for all levels.
Runs at 0.5-2m wave height
Also often referred to as the “Middle of the Bay.” Nicer beach break with many peaks. Tip: It gets bigger further to the right.
Runs at 0.5-3.5m wave height
Best spot with south wind. Many peaks, but often very crowded.
Runs at 0.5-2m wave height
Super spot in north wind, because the pier of the harbor intercepts the wind. Often very many bodyboarders, but a top right!
Runs at 1-2.5m wave height
World class surf spot and as the name suggests, super tubes guaranteed! Attention, not for beginners!
Runs at 1-4m wave height
Beautiful right point break on rocks. Runs best on west swell. Due to the sharp stones very dangerous entry and exit, so nothing for beginners!

Very demanding right point break. Pretty fast drop. Respect the Locals!
